Uzbekistan Railways introduces train speed restrictions amid scorching summer temperatures
In response to the intense summer heat currently affecting Uzbekistan, speed limits are being imposed on train operations, according to a statement by Uzbekistan Railways.
Due to the rising temperatures, the heat absorbed by above-ground railway tracks and their steel components can reach extremely high levels. To ensure the safety of passengers and train operations, speed restrictions will be implemented on certain routes.
The company also noted that the efficiency of air conditioning systems on trains operating under these speed restrictions may decrease.
Additionally, trains subject to these limitations may arrive at their destinations later than scheduled.
