The court ruled to stop construction at 28 Yusuf Khos Khojib Street in the Yakkasaray district.
The lawsuit was filed by the Cultural Heritage Agency at the initiative of the Uzbekistan Cultural and Arts Development Foundation, citing legal violations that posed a threat to the Uzbekistan Museum of Applied Arts.
The museum is a significant cultural heritage site and a remarkable example of Tashkent modernism. Authorities emphasized that preserving such landmarks is essential not only for safeguarding history but also for maintaining the city’s architectural identity.
