Uzbekistan and Pakistan discuss measures to boost bilateral trade
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, held a meeting with Zubair Motiwala, the Chief of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). The discussion focused on expanding bilateral trade and diversifying the export-import portfolio. During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented the conditions and incentives available to foreign investors in Uzbekistan.

The meeting, held in the Pakistani city of Karachi, was also attended by deputy heads of TDAP and representatives of departments responsible for developing trade and economic relations with foreign countries.
During the meeting, new directions to increase mutual trade were considered. These included ensuring consistent participation of both sides in trade and industrial exhibitions held in the two countries, raising awareness about each other's products by establishing connections between trading houses, and creating online platforms with information about all types of goods from Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The Pakistani side highlighted the success of the "Made in Pakistan" industrial exhibition, held in Tashkent in June 2024, and expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for its assistance in organizing the event. The TDAP Chief invited representatives from Uzbekistan to participate in the upcoming "FoodAg Manufacturing Show" and "4th Engineering and Healthcare Show," scheduled to take place this year in Lahore.
The meeting also addressed the further development of trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Karachi and Uzbekistan's regions, as well as measures to elevate relations between the business communities to a new level.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to exchange detailed information on the dates of international exhibitions and fairs organized in the two countries, and to cooperate closely in ensuring the participation of delegations, producers, and entrepreneurs from the business associations of Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Additionally, TDAP representatives shared their proposals for establishing air connectivity on the Tashkent–Karachi route.
