Uzbekistan sees surge in foreign business presence, led by China
Since the beginning of the year, over 700 new companies with Chinese investment have been established in Uzbekistan.

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of June 1, there are 16,405 active enterprises with foreign investment operating across the country. This includes 4,087 joint ventures and 12,318 fully foreign-owned companies.
This figure represents a 14.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
The most notable growth came from Chinese companies. While there were 3,357 Chinese enterprises at the start of the year, by June 1, the number had climbed to 4,068.
Other countries also showed an increase in business presence over the past four months:
- Russian companies rose to 3,086 (+113),
- Turkish companies to 1,997 (+128),
- Kazakhstani firms to 1,136 (+76),
- South Korean enterprises to 674 (+14).
Additionally, the business landscape in Uzbekistan includes:
- 682 Afghan companies,
- 368 from the UAE,
- 326 from India, and
- 320 from the United States.
