Police take action against showbiz personalities over staged stadium fight
Tashkent’s Main Department of Internal Affairs (MDIA) has announced that the Likecup football project has been temporarily suspended following a public disturbance during a match involving show business figures and influencers. The police confirmed that administrative charges have been filed against all those who staged or participated in the brawl, and the case has been referred to the Shaykhontokhur District Criminal Court.

The incident occurred on May 28 during a Likecup football match between celebrities and Instagram bloggers. A video broadcast live and widely circulated on social media shows D. Nazarov initiating a physical altercation by pushing another player at the end of the game. The situation escalated when another player retaliated against Nazarov, leading to widespread disorder.
Later, TV host Alisher Uzokov publicly admitted that the brawl had been staged, claiming it was a scripted performance. However, he noted that officers of the National Guard present at the stadium had not been informed in advance.
The public misconduct by these showbiz figures has sparked significant backlash from the public.
In an official statement, the Tashkent MDIA clarified that the incident took place at the “Jar” stadium in Shaykhontokhur district.
“After the game ended, O.U., born in 2004, staged the altercation between the teams with the intention of gaining more followers on social media and drawing public attention (PR) to the match,” the police stated.
An investigation was launched by the Shaykhontokhur district’s Internal Affairs Department, and preventive conversations were held with the tournament participants. Due to the strong public outcry and the fact that this orchestrated event involved a legal violation, the Likecup project has been suspended temporarily.
The authorities identified the organizers, those who staged the fight, and all participants involved. They have all been issued administrative protocols in accordance with relevant articles of Uzbekistan’s Administrative Responsibility Code.
“The collected documents have been submitted to the Shaykhontokhur District Criminal Court for appropriate legal action,” the statement concluded.
The MDIA did not specify the exact number of individuals facing legal proceedings.
