Turgunov, who is based in Riyadh, presented copies of his credentials to Majid Al-Qatarneh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance Uzbekistan–Jordan relations and expand cooperation within international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. They also reviewed prospects for strengthening political dialogue through reciprocal visits at various levels and the organization of joint events — in particular, political consultations between the foreign ministries and meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission.
Special attention was given to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as boosting tourism exchanges. The two parties emphasized the importance of organizing Culture Days in the capitals of Uzbekistan and Jordan as a valuable tool for advancing people-to-people diplomacy.
It is worth noting that Nodirjon Turgunov also serves as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
