Uzbekistan’s MFA recommends caution, urges citizens to heed embassy warnings in Iran and Israel
According to Akhror Burkhanov, the spokesperson for Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the country’s embassies in Iran and Israel have not been closed and are currently operating in emergency 24/7 mode. In light of the current situation, the MFA has advised Uzbek citizens not to travel to either country. As of June 16, more than 30 citizens have been successfully evacuated from Iran.

Burkhanov emphasized that Uzbekistan’s embassies in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel remain fully operational. "Rather than suspending operations, they are functioning around the clock to provide assistance. Through their websites and social media channels, the embassies have urged citizens to remain vigilant, avoid going outside unnecessarily, and contact diplomatic missions in case of any difficulties," he said.
“We strongly recommend that our citizens refrain from traveling to both countries. For those currently residing in Iran or Israel, we urge you to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary and to follow the instructions issued by diplomats at all times,” said Burkhanov.
He also noted that, as of June 16, more than 30 Uzbek citizens have been successfully evacuated from Iran via Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
“We express our sincere gratitude to our colleagues in Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Iran for their close cooperation in this process. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of our citizens,” the MFA spokesperson added.
