The first freight train has departed from Tianjin to Tashkent, according to Uzbekistan Railways.
One of China’s largest seaports, Tianjin Port, is now connected to Central Asia by rail. The port maintains trade relations with over 400 ports in 180 countries.
The newly launched railway corridor is expected to:
- Reduce the transportation distance by 800 kilometers;
- Shorten delivery times;
- Lower transportation costs.
This new route will expand export-import opportunities and make the region more attractive for international companies.
