Banks in Uzbekistan earn 3.41 trillion UZS in Q1, NBU leads the pack
The National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) emerged as the most profitable bank in the first quarter, followed by Uzsanoatqurilishbank and Hamkorbank. At the same time, six financial institutions reported losses.
In January–March 2025, the combined profit of Uzbekistan’s banks exceeded 3.41 trillion UZS — a 43.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Many domestic banks are state-owned and function not only as commercial entities but also as institutions for economic development. As a result, they receive substantial government support, which makes it difficult to assess their profitability in purely market-driven terms.

- Uzsanoatqurilishbank – 403.98 billion UZS
