On March 5, the President of Uzbekistan chaired an expanded meeting on the National Council for Combating Corruption, where it was noted that despite significant reforms to ensure judicial independence, judges are still occasionally summoned to meetings and assigned tasks beyond their jurisdiction. Additionally, some agencies continue to attempt to influence court decisions.

"I issue a strict warning to all leaders. Any interference in the judiciary will be considered an attack on justice. There will be strict inquiries and accountability regarding this matter," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The president also underscored the crucial role of lawyers in the administration of justice, emphasizing the need to create conditions that allow them to provide timely legal assistance to their clients.

"Officials have been instructed to submit a draft law within three months aimed at eliminating the obstacles preventing lawyers from delivering quality legal services," the presidential press service reported.
