Over 450 outdated elevators to be replaced by year-end
The governor of Tashkent has authorized the replacement of 452 elevators that have reached the end of their service life. The project, aimed at improving safety and efficiency, is scheduled for completion by the end of this year, as reported by the press service of the city's administration.

The new elevators will be manufactured by the OSTEN brand, located at the Technopark. Tashkent currently has 9,101 elevators in its multi-apartment buildings, with 2,042 of them in need of replacement due to aging.
By the end of 2025, 452 of these outdated elevators will be replaced, accounting for 22.1% of the total. The new elevators will meet modern safety standards and offer improved energy efficiency.
Earlier, it was reported that Tashkent’s governor, Shavkat Umurzakov, allocated 6 billion soms to address issues with the city's drainage system, which often struggles during rainfall and leads to flooding during heavy rains.
