The meeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics, their parents and coaches began at the Kuksaroy residence.

The head of state once again congratulated the athletes with their worthy participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games and their historic victory.

“This prestigious sports conference, attended by about 11,000 of the most famous athletes from more than 200 countries of the world, was literally full of records and unparalleled achievements for us.

First of all, it should be noted that Uzbekistan participated in this Olympics for the first time with the largest team, that is, with 90 athletes in 19 sports.

It is especially important to recognize that our athletes participated in the Olympic Games for the first time in sports such as women’s wrestling, archery, diving, and football,” the president said.
