Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has signed into law the ratification of the treaty “On the tripoint border between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan,” which was signed on 31 March 2025 in the city of Khujand.
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh (parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic on 25 June 2025.
The purpose of the ratification is to implement domestic procedures in accordance with Kyrgyzstan’s laws “On international treaties of the Kyrgyz Republic” and “On the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
Specifically, the law proposes the ratification of the treaty signed by Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan on 31 March 2025 in Khujand, which determines the exact point where the borders of the three countries converge.
On 31 March, the presidents of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan – Emomali Rahmon, Sadyr Japarov, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev – signed the treaty during a meeting held in Khujand, Tajikistan. The tripoint is located in the Fergana Valley, where the Sughd region (Tajikistan), Fergana region (Uzbekistan), and Batken region (Kyrgyzstan) meet.
