Fallen officer posthumously awarded “Jasorat” medal in Andijan

According to the regional administration, by presidential decree, Senior Lieutenant Abdurasul Abduvaliev, a prevention inspector for the “Yuksalish” neighborhood in the Khodjaobod district, was posthumously awarded the “Jasorat” (Bravery) medal. He died after being stabbed by a 65-year-old intoxicated man during the line of duty.

On July 8, the Governor of Andijan region, Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov, along with other officials, extended condolences to the inspector’s mother and family and presented them with the state award.

As previously reported, on July 1, a senior man in Khodjaobod district was threatening his family members with a knife. Inspector Abduvaliev responded to the call but was stabbed and died on the way to the hospital. The assailant fled the scene.

The late inspector was laid to rest with honors. The funeral was accompanied by the national anthem, a guard of honor, and a ceremonial gun salute by officers of the internal affairs department.

The suspect was apprehended on July 4, hiding in a cornfield near the Sukalok cemetery. Upon arrest, he stabbed himself in the abdomen and was hospitalized after receiving first aid.
