The new route is expected to operate twice a week — on Mondays and Thursdays — accelerating transportation links between the two countries.
The launch of direct flights between Tashkent and Shanghai opens promising new opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. It is expected to boost bilateral investment partnerships, tourism, and cultural exchange.
At the same time, this route will simplify logistics, speed up direct trade and business interaction between the two countries, and facilitate the movement of high-value and time-sensitive cargo.
The new service offers Uzbek citizens a fast and convenient way to travel to Shanghai — China's economic powerhouse. Likewise, it creates a comfortable travel path for Chinese tourists wishing to explore Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural landmarks.
In addition, the direct connection will strengthen cultural and educational ties between the two countries, paving the way for international festivals, exhibitions, and exchange programs for students and professionals.
It is important to note that this significant initiative was made possible primarily thanks to the close and friendly relationship between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. Political will, open dialogue, and mutual trust at the highest level laid the foundation for achieving this milestone.
