Tourist arrivals in Uzbekistan surge by 46% in early 2025
According to the National Statistics Committee, the country received 3.1 million foreign visitors for tourism-related purposes between January and April 2025.
The figure marks a 46.4% increase (or nearly 988,000 more tourists) compared to the same period last year.
The majority of foreign arrivals came to visit relatives, with over 2.1 million people citing family visits as their main purpose of travel.
Other key travel motives included:
- Sightseeing and leisure: 434,400 visitors
- Business trips: 374,600 visitors
- Commercial purposes: 152,100 visitors
- Medical treatment: 33,300 visitors
- Education: 7,900 visitors
