Fugitive in human trafficking case extradited from Turkey to Uzbekistan
A citizen of Uzbekistan wanted for committing a human trafficking crime has been apprehended in Istanbul and extradited back to Uzbekistan in accordance with legal procedures.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the arrest was the result of a large-scale joint operation conducted by the ministry in collaboration with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
The suspect, 44-year-old I.U., had been declared wanted by the Namangan Regional Department of Internal Affairs under Article 135, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Human Trafficking). Based on intelligence information, it was established that the individual had been hiding in Istanbul.
The suspect was detained on June 17 on Turkish territory and was extradited to Uzbekistan through the proper legal channels.
