Uzbekistan urges restraint amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official statement regarding the recent escalation in the Middle East, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and immediately cease military actions.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan expresses deep concern over Israel’s military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has resulted in human casualties and a sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
"We call on all parties to show full restraint, to immediately halt military actions, and to resolve the conflict through political and diplomatic means. The possibility of a large-scale confrontation and further deterioration of an already serious situation is alarming," the ministry's statement read.
Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional stability and expressed readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
Background
In the early hours of June 13, Israel launched attacks on Iran, targeting uranium enrichment facilities, missile bases, and major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, and Tabriz. As a result, several Iranian military officials and scientists were reportedly killed.
Iran’s Supreme Leader condemned the attack, stating that Israel had "revealed its vile nature" by committing a "crime against Iran," and warned that the country now faces a "bitter fate."
