Uzbekistan and U.S. reaffirm commitment to Afghan peace dialogue
The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, held talks with Mary Bischoping, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Afghanistan.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in maintaining a regular dialogue aimed at promoting a peaceful resolution to the situation in Afghanistan. Particular attention was paid to issues of international and regional security.
The two parties also discussed expanding cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism. They exchanged views on current challenges and expressed readiness for further engagement.
