MSITF-2025: Uzbekistan showcases drone tech and modern weaponry

As part of the MSITF-2025 festival in Tashkent, a wide range of modern defense industry products were showcased — from heavy and light military equipment to dual-use technologies. Among the main attractions of the exhibition were the numerous types of drones. A Kun.uz correspondent presents a photo report from the event.

The Military and Security Innovative Technologies Festival (MSITF-2025) took place at the “Victory Park” memorial complex in Tashkent from May 29 to June 1.

The festival featured products from organizations, large enterprises, individual inventors, and dual-use manufacturers working in fields essential to the Armed Forces, such as modern technology, metallurgy, chemical industry, and textiles.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense Shukhrat Kholmuhamedov, Chairman of the State Security Service Bahodir Kurbanov, Chairman of the Customs Committee Akmalkhoja Mavlonov, Senator and Head of the Youth Affairs Agency Alisher Sadullayev, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Bahodir Toshmatov, and Deputy Prime Minister Zulaykho Makhkamova, among others.

“Uzbekistan has established cooperation with nearly 50 countries in the military-technical sphere and signed contracts with over 30 leading foreign companies. Partnerships have also been set up with 40 domestic enterprises. The number of product types has reached 155, and service capacities have increased 2.5 times,” said Minister Shukhrat Kholmuhamedov during the ceremony.

The festival featured an extensive exhibition of defense-related innovations — from modern weaponry, ammunition, and heavy and light military machinery to robotics, chemical technologies, military uniforms, and dual-purpose food products.

The main highlight of the exhibition was the display of diverse unmanned aerial vehicles. Dozens of drones were showcased, including strike, reconnaissance, and multipurpose models.

The festival also hosted a variety of competitions, including cyber sports, ethical hacking, mini-robot battles, drone design challenges, rocket modeling, and drone racing.
