At present, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is leading a video selector meeting focused on enhancing the effectiveness of ongoing reforms in the school education system and discussing future priorities.
The meeting highlighted that over the past seven years, funding for preschool and school education has increased sevenfold, with 60 trillion UZS allocated for this sector in the current year alone.
Nearly 1 million new places have been created in schools and 1.5 million in kindergartens. Kindergarten enrollment has tripled, reaching 78%.
“Incentives based on qualifications, language proficiency, the new assessment system, and participation in subject Olympiads have been introduced, providing teachers with over ten types of bonuses. As a result, 60,000 teachers now receive monthly salaries ranging from 8 to 12 million UZS,” the report stated.
It was noted that kindergarten educators' salaries have increased by 65%, bringing them in line with those of schoolteachers. Starting from the upcoming academic year, the monthly salaries of school principals, deputy principals, and kindergarten directors will exceed 7 to 10 million UZS.
It is worth noting that in March, a presidential decree was issued in Uzbekistan announcing salary increases for school principals and their deputies.
