UAE-based Etisalat may establish data centers in Uzbekistan
The UAE’s telecommunications giant Etisalat is planning to implement several investment projects in Uzbekistan, according to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT).

On May 13, MIIT Minister Laziz Kudratov met with Jasim Abdullah, Vice President of e& (Etisalat Group) from the UAE, to explore potential collaboration on the development of telecommunications and digital infrastructure in the country.
The meeting covered investment prospects in local telecom companies, joint implementation of projects to deploy data centers, and broader investments in digital infrastructure.
As a result of the talks, both parties agreed to take concrete steps toward the joint implementation of the proposed projects.
In a separate meeting, Kudratov also held discussions with Elham Pourtangestani, CEO of UAE-based Envirol, on the possibility of constructing the first waste-to-biofuel plant in Central Asia. The parties identified specific steps for moving forward with the investment project.
