Allocated funds will cover the services of sign language interpreters, psychologists, and personal assistants.
A presidential decree titled “On Additional Measures to Improve the Employment System for Persons with Disabilities” has been adopted.
According to the decree, starting from June 1, entrepreneurs who employ individuals with disabilities from Group I and II will be eligible to receive subsidies of up to 50 million UZS. These subsidies are intended to cover expenses related to the services of sign language interpreters, psychologists, and accompanying personnel.
In addition, individuals will be permitted to offer support services to persons with disabilities in the capacity of self-employed professionals.
The document also outlines the following key objectives:
- Introducing a system of specialized services to ensure the effective employment of persons with disabilities;
- Providing young persons with disabilities the opportunity to receive training in modern professions and facilitating their entry into the labor market;
- Ensuring stable employment and decent income for 80,000 persons with disabilities by the end of 2025.
Furthermore, a digital registry of employable persons with disabilities will be maintained within the “Unified National Social Protection” information system.
