Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Vladimir Putin discuss deepening strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia

On May 9, as part of events held in Moscow, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

At the beginning of the conversation, the sides exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.

The meeting focused on further expanding and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, including the implementation of agreements reached during the Russian President’s visit to Uzbekistan in May last year.

The importance of adopting coordinated measures to maintain the current pace of trade, economic, and investment cooperation was emphasized.

Particular attention was given to accelerating the preparation and implementation of projects in priority sectors of the economy, as well as encouraging interregional cooperation.

The leaders expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of humanitarian exchanges, especially in the fields of culture, art, science, and education.

The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on issues of international importance.
