UzAuto Motors has announced that the claims circulating on social media — stating that a batch of Malibu-2 vehicles was returned to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan — are not true.
A video showing new Malibu-2 cars loaded onto a car carrier recently went viral on social media. The author of the video alleged that the vehicles had been sent back from Kazakhstan and were now being delivered to Uzbekistan.
According to UzAuto Motors, the vehicles shown in the video are indeed new Malibu-2 models, but they are being shipped from China to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan in full compliance with established regulations and procedures.
The company has urged social media users not to spread false or misleading information.
For reference, Chevrolet Equinox, Malibu, Traverse, and Tahoe vehicles are not produced in Uzbekistan. They are imported by UzAuto Motors.
It is worth noting that on March 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a government meeting, emphasized the need to significantly reduce the use of service vehicles by state agencies and to transition to domestically produced cars and furniture. Following the president’s directive, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov switched from a Mercedes-Benz to a Chevrolet Malibu, and it was later reported that regional governors were also transitioning to models purchased from UzAuto Motors.
