During a separate operation in Tashkent region, an inspector from the "Yangiyul" customs post was caught while accepting $2,700 through a third party. In return, the official promised to allow train wagons loaded with wheat imported from Kazakhstan to pass customs inspection and clearance without any issues.
Furthermore, in Samarkand region, the head of the Emergency Department of Jomboy district was detained while accepting a $200 bribe. Criminal cases have been opened against all of the detained officials under Article 210 of the Criminal Code (taking bribes). Preventive detention measures have been applied, and investigative procedures are ongoing.
