The production of compartment and reserved seat passenger cars was initiated following the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During his visit to the plant last year, the president instructed the production of train cars symbolizing the "New Uzbekistan".

The 61-950 and 61-951 models, each 26 meters long, are equipped with:

  • Sleeping berths,
  • Individual remote-controlled air temperature regulation in each compartment,
  • Adjustable heaters,
  • Modern electric water boilers,
  • Phone charging stations,
  • Eco-friendly toilets,
  • Surveillance camera systems.

A new 12-car diesel train has been built and is now in operation on the Tashkent–Bukhara–Tashkent route. The train is equipped with modern seating and includes:

  • Two VIP cars,
  • Four business-class cars,
  • Four economy-class cars,
  • One restaurant car,
  • One diesel-powered service car.

One of the key advantages of the diesel train is its uninterrupted air conditioning and heating systems, ensuring smooth operation in both summer and winter. The train is also fully equipped with new technologies not found in other passenger cars.

In 2024, a total of 35 passenger cars were produced. This year, the plan is to manufacture 70 modern train cars, and in the future, the plant aims to increase production capacity to 100 cars per year.

Uzbekistan Railways also announced that the Tashkent Passenger Car Construction and Repair Plant has started exporting specialized passenger cars of various types to neighboring countries.
