Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Nauru
The Republic of Nauru has become the 159th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic ties.

On March 20, a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Nauru was signed in New York.
The document was inked on behalf of the two governments by Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Nauru’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Lara Erab Daniel.
The sides expressed their willingness to enhance cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
An agreement was reached to intensify bilateral contacts to explore mutually beneficial areas of collaboration in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Located in the Pacific Ocean, the island state of Nauru is the smallest independent republic in the world.
