Play Mobile, the provider of SMS notification services, has announced new rates for incoming messages in the UZCARD system.
Beginning March 1, the price for each SMS sent from number 5800 to customers of Beeline, Humans, Perfectum, Ucell, Mobiuz, and UzMobile will rise from 84.2 UZS to 168.4 UZS.
"The current SMS notification service rates have remained unchanged since 2019, despite a significant 75% increase in SMS traffic, which has substantially raised the costs of maintaining the software and hardware systems," the company stated.
In addition to higher traffic volumes, Play Mobile has incurred additional costs related to hiring highly skilled developers, upgrading production infrastructure, continuously improving and supporting software, and integrating it with partner systems and mobile operators.
The company also highlighted the impact of external economic factors on service costs. Over recent years, electricity costs have doubled, the base calculation rate has increased by 68%, and the average cost of a single SMS charged by mobile operators has surged by 300%.
"Play Mobile remains committed to providing high-quality services to subscribers and hopes users will understand the necessity of the tariff adjustments," the statement concluded.
