Statistics Agency reveals average monthly salaries by region and sector in Uzbekistan

According to the agency, the average salary in Uzbekistan in 2024 was 5 million 357 thousand UZS. The highest salaries were observed in Tashkent city (9.1 million UZS) and Navoi region (6.8 million UZS), while the lowest were found in Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, with an average of 3.8 million UZS. By sector, teachers and healthcare workers continue to receive the lowest wages.

In 2024, the average nominal monthly wage in Uzbekistan stood at 5 million 357 thousand UZS, reflecting a growth rate of 17.4% compared to the same period in the previous year, according to the Statistics Agency.

Regionally, the highest average monthly wages were recorded in Tashkent city (9 million 72 thousand UZS), Navoi (6 million 766 thousand UZS), and Tashkent region (5 million 98 thousand UZS).

Conversely, the lowest wages were observed in Kashkadarya (3 million 785 thousand UZS), Surkhandarya (3 million 810 thousand UZS), and Namangan (3 million 869 thousand UZS).

During the reporting period, only two administrative regions — Tashkent city and Navoi region — had nominal wages higher than the national average. In all other regions, wages were lower than the national average.

Over the past year, the highest growth rates in average monthly nominal wages by region were observed in Tashkent city (21.4%), Samarkand (17.6%), Syrdarya (16.7%), Namangan (16.5%), and Fergana (15.1%) regions.

For calculating the average monthly wage in 2024, data from 3 million 138 thousand employees was used. Of these, 37.8% were from the education sector, 18.1% from industry, and 16.7% from healthcare.

In 2024, the highest average monthly wages by sector were as follows:

- Banking, insurance, leasing, credit, and brokerage activities: 15.3 million UZS
- Information and communications sector: 13.1 million UZS
- Transport and storage sector: 8.1 million UZS
- Industry sector: 6.4 million UZS
- Trade sector: 6.2 million UZS
- Construction sector: 5.9 million UZS
- Accommodation and food services sector: 4.6 million UZS
- Arts, entertainment, and recreation sector: 4.3 million UZS
- Education sector: 3.6 million UZS
- Healthcare and social services sector: 3.4 million UZS.
