Tashkent metro served more than 270 million passengers in 2024
The State Statistics Agency has reported that a total of 270.3 million passengers were transported by the Tashkent Metro from January to December 2024, marking an increase of 98.3 million passengers, or 57.2%, compared to 2023.

The annual passenger numbers for the Tashkent Metro over the past few years are as follows:
2020 — 38.8 million passengers;
2021 — 101.8 million passengers;
2022 — 136.7 million passengers;
2023 — 172 million passengers;
2024 — 270.3 million passengers.
Recent changes in the Tashkent Metro
Earlier, on January 11, three modern four-car metro trains were added to the Tashkent Metro fleet.
On December 31, 2024, it was also reported that three new sets of rolling stock, consisting of 12 metro cars, had been delivered to the metro system.
According to the Ministry of Transport, between 2017 and 2019, the metro operated 36 trains. By 2024, this number had risen to 65. Another 26 modern train sets are planned for acquisition by the end of 2025.
In recent times, the demand for metro services has been steadily increasing. On December 16, 2024, for the first time, the Tashkent Metro served 1 million passengers in a single day.
The millionth passenger was awarded a transport card, granting one year of free public transportation.
