Man wanted in Uzbekistan since 2014 detained in Kazakhstan
Over the years, he built a family in Kazakhstan but remained unemployed officially. Authorities are now considering his extradition.

The Department of Police in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan reported the arrest of an individual wanted by the Navoi Regional Department of Internal Affairs in Uzbekistan. The arrest took place in the city of Stepnogorsk.
“According to investigators, this individual had been hiding in Kazakhstan since 2014, without holding any official employment,” the statement said.
The detainee had married in Stepnogorsk and lived on occasional earnings during this time. Currently, law enforcement is conducting all necessary investigative procedures, and the individual is being held in a temporary detention facility.
“The issue of his extradition to Uzbekistan is under consideration, as he is a citizen of the neighboring country,” the agency added.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, Russia extradited a female Uzbek citizen to Kazakhstan who was accused of fraud amounting to $7 million. The suspect had worked as an accountant in a construction company in Almaty from 2005 to 2007, issuing fake receipts that were not recorded in official documentation. After her accomplice was arrested, she went into hiding.
