Deputy governor of Romitan district accused of fraud
Since March 2024, Aziz Boboyev, the Deputy Governor of Romitan District for Innovative Development in Bukhara Region, has been facing potential criminal charges. He, along with his brother, is being tried for fraud and document forgery. The case is currently being heard at the Romitan District Court, where Boboyev holds his Deputy Governor position.

According to the court schedule, the trial for Aziz Boboyev and his brother Laziz Boboyev is set for January 7, 2025. The defendants face charges under Article 168 (Fraud), part 3, sections "b" and "v", and Article 228 (Forgery of documents, stamps, seals, and forms; selling or using forged documents), parts 2, sections "a" and "b", and part 3 of the Criminal Code. Three individuals have been identified as victims in the case.
Further details of the case are yet to be revealed.
Aziz Boboyev, born in 1988 in Romitan District, worked in various roles at Mikrokreditbank’s Romitan branch from 2011 to 2022. In March 2024, he was appointed Deputy Governor of Romitan District for Innovative Development. Before this, he served as an assistant to the district governor in the Hazortut neighborhood.
