Uzbekistan to abolish excise tax on mobile communication services
Uzbekistan will abolish the 10% excise tax on mobile communication services starting January 1, 2025.

The announcement was made during a meeting led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which reviewed the country’s progress in 2023 and outlined key plans for 2025 to support entrepreneurship.
The excise tax reduction has been a topic of discussion for several years. In 2021, a presidential decree reduced the excise tax rate on mobile services to 10% and proposed its complete abolition by 2023. However, the measure was delayed until now.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance confirmed the removal of the tax in its 2025 budget address, signaling the government’s commitment to reducing costs for mobile users and promoting digital connectivity.
