Hududgaztaminot: Karshi tragedy unlikely related to gas or carbon monoxide
The tragic incident in Karshi city, where four members of a family were found dead in their home, is unlikely to be related to gas or carbon monoxide, according to a statement by Hududgaztaminot. The company reported that investigations conducted by gas supply and emergency services officials at the scene reached this conclusion. Previously, the prosecutor's office had reported that carbon monoxide was detected at the connection point of the chimneys.

On December 17, a 46-year-old man and his three children were found lifeless in their home in Karshi city. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the cause of the incident was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning. However, Hududgaztaminot has stated that it does not agree with this version of events.
The company's press service told Kun.uz that inspections carried out by the Emergency Situations Department and gas supply officials found no issues related to gas.
"During the inspection conducted with the participation of responsible personnel, it was determined that the connection points of the two heating boilers installed in the basement were open. When the operation of the heating boiler located in the basement was checked, it was found that the natural gas pressure was normal. Gas analyzers showed no signs of gas leakage in the house. The draft of the chimney was tested using matches, and sufficient draft was detected.
These findings indicate that the tragic incident is unlikely to be related to gas or carbon monoxide," the statement from Hududgaztaminot read.
The company added that the causes of the tragedy are being investigated by the prosecutor's office, internal affairs, emergency services, and other relevant authorities. Further information will be provided based on the conclusions of the expert analysis.
It should be recalled that the version put forward by the prosecutor's office suggested that carbon monoxide leaked from the connection point of the modern dual-circuit heating boiler’s chimney to the general ventilation system.
As a result of the incident, a 46-year-old man and his three children, aged 18, 16, and 10, lost their lives.
