Uganda’s first ambassador to Uzbekistan takes office, meets with FM Saidov
Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige, Uganda’s first-ever Ambassador to Uzbekistan, has officially assumed his duties in Tashkent. The historic diplomatic milestone was marked by a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

During the meeting, Minister Saidov praised Uganda’s successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and expressed gratitude for Uganda’s support of Uzbekistan’s upcoming chairmanship of the NAM from 2027 to 2029.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of establishing political consultations between the two nations' foreign ministries, which would lay the groundwork for fruitful cooperation. Both parties emphasized the potential to strengthen ties between business communities and enhance collaboration within international organizations.
The meeting underscored the importance of tapping into the untapped potential of bilateral relations to further the development of both nations.
