According to the Academy of Sciences, this eclipse is partial, and during the total phase of the eclipse, the surface of the Sun will be covered by 82%. A partial solar eclipse is when the moon covers only part of the solar disk, while the centers of the moon and the sun do not coincide.
The total duration of the solar eclipse will be more than 4 hours, and in Uzbekistan, this phenomenon will be observed for over 2 hours. Throughout the territory of the republic, a partial solar eclipse will be observed in almost the same phase. At the maximum phase, the solar surface will be covered by the Moon by 68%. Due to the sunset in some regions of Uzbekistan, the total duration of the eclipse will be shorter.
According to Tashkent time, the solar eclipse will begin at 15:23, the maximum phase of the eclipse will be at 16:34. At this time, the Moon will eclipse 68% of the Sun's surface, and the Sun's height above the horizon will be 21°. In Tashkent, the total duration of the solar eclipse will be 2 hours and 4 minutes. At 17:38, the solar eclipse will end, but the sunset falls at 17:27.
A solar eclipse can be observed using special sunglasses, dark flat glass or a welding mask. One of the safest and most convenient ways to watch a solar eclipse is to make a small slit in a piece of cardboard and project sunlight through the slit onto the second piece of cardboard (a screen).
Under no circumstances should you look at the Sun through binoculars or a telescope during an eclipse. This may damage the eyes. Before using optical devices, special solar filters must be installed on them.
